So throughout my stay here in Thailand I think I’ve discovered the number one trait a successful traveler should have, and if they don’t they should acquire.  Flexibility. Going with the flow. Having a chill personality.  Whatever you may call ‘it’ any real traveler possesses a calm personality of whatever may be, will be.  In Thai, you say sabai sabai.  My whole semester in Thailand has been a test of my patience and flexibility against countless unforeseen events.  First I left Bangkok a month ago with my small school backpack and four t-shirts, two shorts and no shoes.  Now, I’ve learned that it is possible to travel and live with not a lot to wear and it’s actually more comfortable to travel super light.  A month ago classes were canceled and I was forced to travel around Thailand.  Now I have seen amazing islands and beaches, I trekked through breathtaking mountains in the north, and I know Chiang Mai like the back of my hand.  A month ago I was in a routine of every day life, now I have a measure of inner peace that I’ve never experienced before. I am ready to move on with my life and go experience new things.  That is what traveling gives you and it’s what Thailand has given me.
