What is the most interesting thing you learned in another culture?

That we are really all the same, sure the details are different but everyone wants the same things in life.

Today we went back to Haworth to where the Bronte sisters grew up and lived.  We first had an incredably inforamtive talk from one of the people on staff and then my group went into the house first.  I find it amazing that people were ever that small and compact.  Also, it seemed to me that there were some bedrooms missing.  One is clearly labled as Charlotte's bedroom, and there are rooms for Aunt Bramwell and Mr. Bronte, as well as two studies but no rooms for any of the other children, except for a nursery.  THis seems odd to me since there were originally five children.  These women seem to have endured, survived, and achieved so much yet, it seems that they did not value themselves which is unfortunate.  I was glad that we were able to see Haworth in such wonderful weather this year.  Personally, I find the area around Haworth to be the most beautiful in England.  I love the rolling hills and beautiful farms.
