What is your funniest travel experience?

After the airline returned a few lost bags to my student ambassador trip, the luggage had to be left on the balcony due to their odor. Unfortunately, wherever the pieces were found had a skunk problem. My suitcase was never the same.

One Red Dog...Thank you for the AWESOME pizza!

After my return from the South Island, I got to meet Jeni, the new addition to the house in Wellington.  I was able to recount some of my stories and get caught on some of theirs.  I spent the better part of the next 2 days finding and packing all of my things...it is impressive how much and how far your things can spread in about 2 1/2 months in a house with 5 other girls.

We went for 1 last hurrah with all the girls and finally got to try the pizza at One Red Dog.  It was awesome, and they had so many unique types of pizza that one would not often find in the US.  Where else will you find an Indian pizza with butter chicken and sauce on it?...Yummm!

On my last day, we went to a Carnival and had a little fun there.  Then Jeni and I had to find some way to get bus tickets without enough money for 2 adult tickets.  We managed to negotiate a student ticket for one of us...we had just enough for that.  Just another of our slightly pathetic travel stories, but that is what makes life interesting.  Angela picked me up to take me to the airport so I wouldn't have to take the Airport Flyer...a huge save since my luggage came to 23 kg, 18 kg, my backpack, and my purse.  I accumulated so much during my time there, it was hard to believe.

I dashed through the Wellington Airport because they were moving people to the earlier flight to Auckland, but that would be the only time I wouldn't have to wait.  When I made it to LA, I did not have enough time to make my connection, so I had to wait for a flight that was nearly 8 hours later than my original 1.  This news came after my faceplant on the bus over my suitcase on the bus...just a little embarrassing.

I finally made it back home...it was really nice to see my family and friends again.  New Zealand still holds some allure for a possible return visit in the future.

--P.S.  For those of you who are not huge American Football fans like me, try rugby.  It was great to be able to go to the New Zealand v. South Africa match in Wellington.
